Bowden Mayes was setup in 2009 by Michael Bowden and Kevin Mayes to focus on placing senior management, executive search and interim specialists within recruitment. The majority of our proactive work is done on a retained basis, and we maintain a strong network of passive candidates and introduce or create opportunities for them as and when appropriate.
Michael focuses his time on research, mapping and engagement. He has been in recruitment since 2001 and grew an award winning recruitment to recruitment business from 5 to 30 staff before co-founding Bowden Mayes in 2009.
Outside of work Michael is extremely passionate about food owing to a former life as a chef and when time allows his other pursuits include running, squash and the occasional game of tennis. Michael is happily married to his wife Sarah and is busy keeping his young daughter amused at the weekends.
Kevin’s primary role is to manage the search from engagement to conclusion, whilst also working with a handful of experienced candidates keen to explore the market more proactively when appropriate. Kevin began his career in 1998 supplying senior level staff to the Defence and Telecommunications markets before being headhunted to a leading recruitment to recruitment business to set up a senior appointments division and latterly set up a sister company to focus on the London market. He co-founded Bowden Mayes in 2009.
Outside of Bowden Mayes, Kevin takes part in a number of outdoor/active pursuits; various racket sports, martial arts (Wing Tsun) and running. He also enjoys a night of comedy, theatre, anything at Ronnie Scott’s and the odd box office show.
